Shirley Lemons Sliger
SLIGER, SHIRLEY LEMONS - age 73 went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, January 19, 2008. She was surrounded by her loving and devoted husband of 52 years, Hugh; daughter, Jan, and son, Jeff after an eight month battle with lung cancer. Shirley was a loving wife, mother and Mammaw who loved cooking and serving huge family meals in her kitchen and around her dining table. Her most favorite times were family vacations with all of her precious grandchildren. After retiring from Union Planters Bank she was an avid homemaker who loved working in her yard and flowers. Shirley had so many good friends and was a mother to all of those in her extended family.

Shirley was a dedicated member of Trenton Street Baptist Church for over 50 years, she served as teacher and director of the youth and children's departments and initiated the founding of the Kool Kids Activities Day Camp for eleven years. A member of the Gleaners Sunday School class, Shirley enjoyed serving on the kitchen committee and food closet where she selflessly shared her faith of Jesus Christ with others. An active member of the Bradley County Class of 1952, Shirley enjoyed sharing in yearly reunions with many of her dear friends.
